Applications Development Manager The role holder is primarily responsible for defining and managing software and solution development projects. The role holder at this level is technically experienced and has a successful record of delivering on time and to budget, demonstrates competence in key areas of management and leadership expertise including communication, staff direction and motivation, financial planning and control, quality management, risk analysis and the achievement of targets. Responsibilities: Manages more than one team (software developers, designers and some software development managers) coordinating their activities to ensure the efficient use of resources contributing to the customer solution. Responsible for the choice of development methods, standards and tools to ensure that the customer solution adheres to best practice within the constraints of the development environment (e.g. budget, resources and customer’s preferred modus operandi). Responsibility for own training and development and that of his/her staff ensuring that specialisations and awareness of developments in the IT industry contribute to the development of innovative solutions to meet customers requirements. Communicates effectively both orally and in writing with team, own senior management and customer senior management to develop business cases for current and future investment, which ultimately will result in winning business Identifies risks and mitigation for multiple work packages. Understands, follows and selects appropriate Fujitsu Service's processes and policies and gives constructive feedback on these. Proposes technical solutions within the scope of his/her own technical expertise to customers to ensure the quality in that area of the customer solution. Skills / knowledge / experience Strategic and tactical planning. Understanding of financial management. Work package planning and control. Corporate processes and policy understanding and practice. Tool and method selection. Leadership. Initiative. Experienced in multiple technology areas. Working understanding of project management methodology. Very effective communication skills including presentation techniques. Understanding business impact English: Upper-intermediate and higher. German is a plus.
